Action is part of the homeless animal assistance program
Last Saturday (18), 10 dogs and 1 cat were adopted in Mariana (MG) during an event held by the Renova Foundation in front of the town’s Convention Center. They were housed in the Temporary Animal Shelter (CATA), created after the collapse of the Fundão dam.
The animals that still live on site receive veterinary treatment, food and affection. The 17 pets (15 dogs and 2 cats) that were ready to get new homes, were neutered and vaccinated in partnership with the Institute for Animal Rights Defense (IDDA), which operates in Ouro Preto (MG) and Mariana.
During the event families were informed about responsible ownership of pets and will receive a visit from a professional, hired by Renova, to accompany the adaptation process.
