Local suppliers registered and were attended by construction companies that serve the Renova Foundation
A special edition of Supplier Day was held in Mariana. Focused on the resettlement works, the event provided the opportunity for companies in the region to register and contact directly with representatives of the construction companies Andrade Gutierrez and RGL Engineering and Consulting
Supplier Day is an action held on Thursdays in Mariana and Governador Valadares. Participating in the Special Supplier Day were Renova’s contractors that are mobilizing to start construction.
The intention is to introduce local suppliers to companies and, thus, enable them to participate in the reparation process. “The initiative strengthens the contracting of local businesses and boosts the economy, as we expand opportunities in the region”, says Renova Foundation Supply Chain coordinator Arthur Mavignier.
During the event, each representative of local suppliers was attended individually by Renova’s contractors. Sandra Alves, Andrade Gutierrez’s subcontract manager, highlights that this type of action is very productive, since the partnership with service providers is essential to ensure the delivery of the works. “It is the second time that we participate and today we are here to strengthen the relationship with local suppliers. I believe that the result will be very good for both sides”, she points out.
Cesar Bastos, who represented the company Trevo Professional Uniforms from Mariana, highlights the relevance of the dialogue between construction companies and local businesses. “They were very attentive and this first meeting was extremely important to me. We were able to talk about some strategic topics and I am sure that this visit will bear fruit”, he says.
