This traditional event contributes to fostering local culture, tourism and economy
Next weekend, the new Gastronomic Doce River Mouth Festival will take place in the community of Povoacao, in Linhares (ES), as part of the traditional Robalo Event, from Friday 10/11 through Sunday 10/13. The activities will take place at the beach at the special events venue.
The festival is held by the Association of Fishermen and Alike from Povoacao, in partnership with the Municipal Office of Linhares and the Renova Foundation. This year’s edition, in addition to the concerts, there will be 20 local vendors participating in the event and six of them will be competing in the best dish contest.
Last weekend, the participants of the contest met their tutors, people who will accompany and assist them in the dish preparation process. It was an important moment to exchange experiences and information.
Analyst of the Program Supporting Tourism, Culture, Sport and Recreation of the Renova Foundation, Rafaela Cavalcanti, highlights the importance of the event in the community. “The Robalo Event is one of the most traditional ones in the Povoacao district. It brings together not only fishermen but the whole community. It is a way to maintain local tradition and culture,” she says.
