The Renova Foundation informs that, at a meeting held on June 22, within the scope of the National Observatory of the National Council of Justice (CNJ) and the National Council of the Public Ministry (CNMP), about the collapse of the Fundão dam, in Mariana (MG), the parties signed a commitment containing 10 premises that indicate the path for a possible renegotiation between those involved.
The letter of principles ensures that the renegotiation discussion does not imply the stoppage, suspension or discontinuation of any programs or projects currently under development. In other words, the actions carried out by the Renova Foundation in the reparation process are still in progress.
The Renova Foundation reaffirms its commitment to repairing the damage caused by the collapse of the Fundão dam, in Mariana (MG), the purpose for which it was created. Around R$ 13.28 billion were allocated for repair and compensation actions up to May, with R$ 4.12 billion being paid in indemnities and emergency financial aid to 324,000 people.
