Until August 22, 2023, applications for the selection process for the post of general ombudsman at the Renova Foundation are open.
Conducted independently by the Selpe Group, the public notice is focused on people with graduation in the fields of Law, Psychology, Social Assistance, Anthropology, Social Sciences and related areas, with proven experience in activities related to the ombudsman, especially those in defense of Human Rights, Disaster Law and Environmental Law. It is desirable to have a master’s degree or specialization in Human Rights, Ombudsman Management, Compliance, Corporate Governance, Mediation and Conflict Resolution and/or related areas.
The selection process will be based on curriculum and document analysis, followed by interviews by a technical evaluation committee. The result may be released by November 30, and admission is scheduled for December 1, with the end of the four-year term of the current general ombudsman, Pedro Strozenberg.

What does an ombudsman do?
The duties of the position include receiving, analyzing, forwarding and monitoring information regarding procedures and actions related to the Renova Foundation’s performance in repairing damages, as well as producing periodic reports and guaranteeing the operation of the channels of assistance to those affected.
The general ombudsman will also be responsible for articulating with the other bodies of the Foundation and with governance bodies: Advisory Board, Board of Governors, Supervisory Board, Prosecution Service at federal and state levels, Federal Police, technical advisory services, federal and state public defenders, local commissions and committees of those affected.
