Regarding the information disclosed at a press conference held today (05/04), in Belo Horizonte, by the prosecution services and defense of the alliance Minas Gerais and Espirito Santo, the Renova Foundation would like to clarify some important points. The Foundation is part of a system composed of more than 70 entities committed to repairing the impacts caused by the Fundao dam collapse, a model recognized by international bodies such as UN Environment, universities and Brazilian public agencies.
The recommendation by the prosecution covers issues that are already being addressed and are showing results. The advances made in the programs are the result of a continuous collective construction. The Renova Foundation will provide all the information on the progress of the programs, following its policy of transparency and seriousness in dealing with all those involved.
Every day, the Renova Foundation mobilizes field teams oriented by areas specialized in Human Rights and Compliance to seek solutions for all those affected. It is comprised of hundreds of people engaged day and night in the largest environmental and socioeconomic recovery action under construction in the country. A group formed not only by Renova’s technicians, but by a sum of individual efforts and dozens of entities from public bodies, civil organizations, companies, universities and research institutions, as well as representatives of affected communities.
