The objective is to prioritize the hiring of local labor and generate income for the region
In search of local labor for its actions, the Renova Foundation offers courses and trainings to encourage workers throughout its territory of action, as well as recruitment sessions for the collection of resumes. Recently, the action took place in Barra Longa (MG), in partnership with the National Employment System (SINE – Mariana).
In Minas Gerais, 3,800 jobs are expected to be generated in the region that goes from Mariana to Santa Cruz do Escalvado. Of this number, 70% is expected to be local labor.
Francisco Carlos Lima, a socioeconomic specialist at the Renova Foundation, explains that Barra Longa does not have a SINE at its disposal, which hinders recruitment. “We need to get the contracted companies to hire people from the town. This is something we anticipated and therefore we have begun to collect resumes in partnership with the Mariana entity”, he explains.
It is possible that, in August, new recruitment sessions will be held to collect resumes in Santa Cruz do Escalvado and Rio Doce.
