The visit is part of the university’s entrepreneurship curriculum
Recognizing that solutions will only be effective if built collectively, the Renova Foundation and the professionals involved in the reconstruction of Bento Rodrigues (MG) received, on March 9 and 11, the district members and students of Civil Engineering, Tourism Management and Biological Sciences of the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais (PUC Minas).
The initiative is part of a project of the entrepreneurship curriculum called “The Bento Rodrigues incident leading to Entrepreneurial Actions: A Multidisciplinary Perspective”, which aims to produce academic papers on the subject.
“Upon completion of the activities, we want to present the proposals made by the students to the community and to the Renova Foundation”, says Edmundo Gomes, professor of the entrepreneurship curriculum and project mentor.
Michelle Maura, a last year student of Civil Engineering of PUC Minas, also comments on the experience of meetings with residents of Bento Rodrigues. “The conversation with them was very revealing, identifying needs and expectations and eliminating proposals that would not be interesting, although technically feasible”, she said.
