In partnership with Espírito Santo’s National Service of Industrial Education (Senai-ES), 75 places were offered in three professional training classes.
In the first week of December, classes for administrative assistant and storekeeper courses began, offered, free of charge, to the population affected by the Fundão (MG) dam failure, for residents of the communities of Regência and Povoação, in Linhares (ES).
The action is an initiative of the area of Hiring and Local Entrepreneurship of the Renova Foundation, in partnership with the National Service of Industrial Education of Espírito Santo (Senai-ES), and aims to train participants to be able to perform work relevant to the chosen areas of activity, following the legislation, operational processes and technical and quality standards required in the activities.
For the two modalities of the courses, 75 places were offered. The classes have a workload of 160 hours, equivalent to three months’ duration, and will take place at night in both communities. “Professional training expands opportunities for adults and young people aged 16 and over to enter the job market. The training paves the way for the community to have access to the development of skills needed and required today”, says Roberto Ruggeri, coordinator of the area of Hiring and Local Entrepreneurship.
In September, the Renova Foundation opened enrollments for nine courses in Regencia and six in Povoação. Each interested person could enroll in up to two courses, free of charge and online. In Regência, the courses offered were administrative assistant, storekeeper, production planning and control assistant, real estate painter, computer assembler and repairer, masonry mason, industrial electrician, coating mason and computer operator. As for the community of Povoação, the vacancies offered were administrative assistant, storekeeper, painter of real estate works, masonry mason, industrial electrician and coating mason.
New classes are scheduled to open from January 2022 and will be announced in the communities where they will be held. The population will also be able to follow the announcement of vacancies on the official communication channels of the Renova Foundation.
Other actions for replacement in the labor market
In addition to courses to qualify professionals from the regions impacted by the collapse, the Renova Foundation provides activities to strengthen local economic activities. This is the case of the Recoloca Rio Doce Program. The platform seeks to put the affected population back into the job market. On the website, interested people can register their CVs and companies publish available vacancies. Registration, both for CVs and vacancies, can be done free of charge on the website https://recolocariodoce.com.br/.
