The biggest mountain bike race in Latin America takes place in Mariana on the 15th, 16th and 17th of September.
Gomes Freire Square (Jardim), in Mariana, will be the starting point for the commemorative edition of Iron Biker Brasil, which celebrates three decades in 2023. The competition will bring together more than five thousand tourists, with two thousand athletes coming from all regions of the country and some foreigners.
There will be a two-day event and 160 km covered in the municipality of Mariana and its districts, with breathtaking landscapes. On Saturday (16), the total route will be 97 km (long) and 65 km (short). On Sunday (17), there will be a total route of 75 km and a reduced route of 60 km.
Iron Biker Brasil passes through New Bento Rodrigues
For the second year in a row, the new district will be part of the competition route. Currently, 36 properties are being occupied by new residents, including the School. The new homes were built considering the needs, expectations and choices of the community. “Passing through the new community is a source of pride for us. We all suffered together with those who lived in Bento. The race used to go through there, even before the disaster. And being able to go now, to the new district, is, in fact, a symbol with new meaning”, said Marco Antonio Canaan, one of the organizers of Iron Biker Brasil.
