PROGRAMS
The Mediated Indemnity Program (PIM) is intended for payments for proven damages in economic activities. The indemnity is calculated on an individual basis and takes into account the particularities of the cases. Until April, around R$ 1.13 billion were paid in General Damages to more than 10,400 affected people.
On the other hand, Emergency Financial Aid (AFE) is paid to those affected who suffered a direct impact on their economic or productive activity. Since 2015, 24,400 people have been served in this modality, and the amount disbursed has reached approximately R$ 1.58 billion.
In August 2020, the Simplified Indemnity System was implemented, based on a decision by the 12th Federal Court to deal with hard-to-prove damage cases. From September 2020 to April, R$1.08 billion was paid to around 11,800 people in 22 locations. According to the damage category, the settlements are a one-off and definitive payment, as ruled by the Court, and they vary from R$17 thousand to R$567 thousand.
