Delivery of materials is part of the agreement signed between the Renova Foundation and the municipality to strengthen the Unified Health System (SUS)
The Renova Foundation provided Personal Protective Equipment to strengthen the work of the Barra Longa Health Surveillance Department. On August 18, the Municipal Health Department received 110 items, including clothing for agents of endemic diseases and sanitary inspectors, such as vests, hats, boots and shirts. Complete kits to combat Dengue, Zika and Chikungunya were also delivered, as well as sunscreens, repellents and leggings. The PPEs will be used by professionals during sanitary inspection activities, zoonoses control and epidemiological investigations in the field, among others.
The supply of the material is part of the agreement signed by the Renova Foundation with Barra Longa, in September 2020, for the strengthening of the Unified Health System (SUS) in the municipality. According to Igor Damiani, specialist of the Renova Foundation’s Health and Social Assistance Program, professionals will be able to feel more protected and equipped to carry out their daily activities. “Among the activities performed are epidemiological investigation in the field, sanitary inspection and guidance to business owners and the population on the sanitary measures necessary to prevent the spread of diseases transmitted through vertebrate animals, insects, soil, food and water, for example”, he comments.
The actions provided for in the agreement total R$ 8 million, including transfers for the hiring of doctors on duty, nurses and Health Surveillance professionals, for pharmaceutical assistance and specialized consultations or exams. Two vehicles with fuel cards will also be made available to transport patients and technical teams.
