Delivered properties have Occupancy Certificate issued by the City of Mariana and residents begin to schedule changes
Residents of the new district of Bento Rodrigues, who have expressed interest, started receiving keys to their homes this week. As of this Friday (April 28), the keys to five properties have been handed over to four families.
The move to the new district will take place gradually, in line with the families’ intentions, and will be monitored by the Renova Foundation.
The resettlement of Bento Rodrigues was designed together with the residents. “The new district of Bento Rodrigues enters a new phase with the delivery of the keys and the beginning of the families’ moving. The process was long, but the construction work was based on dialogue and respect for the families’ needs. Each house has an individual and exclusive architectural and construction project. All stages were debated, aligned and decided together with the households”, says the CEO of the Renova Foundation, Andre de Freitas.
The construction of 123 properties was completed. Public facilities and infrastructure such as a school, health and service centers, wastewater treatment plants are ready, and will start operating in partnership with the City of Mariana according to the needs of the new district. Telephone services will be operated by Vivo. The internet signal is in charge of Conecta Minas Telecom (CMT).
So that the future residents of the new district of Bento Rodrigues live in safety, comfort and well-being, the Renova Foundation and the City of Mariana develop a set of initiatives.
- Urban cleaning and garbage collection: The City of Mariana will sweep the streets in Bento Rodrigues once a week and the Renova Foundation will collaborate with this work by placing a team to sweep and wet the roads three more times a week. Common garbage collection will take place on Mondays and Thursdays from 10 am. The selective collection will be every Monday from 9 am.
- Collective public transport: Bento Rodrigues will have a municipal bus line to travel to the center of Mariana and vice versa. Schedules and itineraries were defined by the Municipal Traffic Department (Demutran) of Mariana, which took into account a mobility survey carried out with the community.
- Public security: As in the headquarters and in the other districts of Mariana, the Municipal Civil Guard will be present in Bento Rodrigues. There will be an integrated security post for joint action with the Military Police, Civil Police and Fire Department. The guard will also be present in the streets of Bento, carrying out preventive patrols. In addition, security cameras will be installed at some points in the new district.
- Health: The Health Center, one of the first public facilities completed in Bento Rodrigues, is being equipped. All of its items were previously defined with the Municipal Health Department. Residents will have access to several free services, such as general medical care, physiotherapy, dentistry and other specialties.
