The meeting brought together representatives of 37 projects selected by the Call for Experiences and Good Practices in Education for the Revitalization of the Doce River Basin
The Event for Sharing Stories and Know-How for the Revitalization of the Doce River Basin, held on September 27 and 28, gathered in the Doce River State Park in Minas Gerais, 70 representatives of 37 projects mapped during the Call for Experiences and Good Practices of Education for the Revitalization of the Doce River Basin. The purpose of the meeting was to bring the Renova Foundation closer to the process of education and revitalization of river basins in order to strengthen networks and create connections with local institutions that already play this role.
The experiences will be published in a book and will serve as inspiration for the elaboration of the Education Program for the Revitalization of the Doce River Basin. “The Meeting was very rich, showing several points of convergence in relation to the objectives of revitalization in the Doce River basin. This strengthens us to stimulate this network and create connections between the experiences, consolidating the work in the basin,” says the leader of the area of Education and Culture, Shymena Guedes.
“We hope to strengthen these institutions and alliances where already in operation. We are happy to note that there is this commitment, that people are willing to contribute to the revitalization of the Doce River,” explains the Head of Institutional Development of Renova, Andrea Azevedo.
The institutions invited to attend the meeting also took the opportunity to strengthen their networks. This is the case of Kátia Vitor, from Companhia Teatral 2X2: “Here, we gather forces and exchanges experiences that give us a fresh impetus, showing that the difficulties we face in this trajectory are also been lived elsewhere, by other people. We can do it, because we are all engaged in the purpose of a better world, “says Katia.
