Impacted parties that have already joined the program do not need to sign the new term
The Renova Foundation informs that it adjusted the format of the Conciliation Agreement of the Mediated Indemnity Program (PIM), a document that certifies the conciliation between the institution and those impacted by the collapse of the Fundão dam for the discharge of damage by water shortages. The new term is available for viewing here.
The impacted parties who have already joined the program in Governador Valadares (MG) and Colatina (ES) need not sign the agreement in the new format, considering that there was no relevant change to the content.
THE PROGRAM
The Renova Foundation has started the indemnification program for the communities impacted by the collapse of the Fundão dam, property of Samarco Mineração. The Mediated Indemnity Program (PIM) is aimed at compensating those affected, in a timely manner, with a mutual agreement and without the procedures of a lawsuit.
PIM is available for individuals, families, micro and small businesses that suffered material loss or loss of economical activities, as a direct and immediate consequence of the collapse. Participation is voluntary and free of charge. Those interested who have filed a lawsuit can join PIM. However, in case they agree with the proposal, they should stop the lawsuit in order to receive the payment.
The Mediated Indemnity Program has fixed and itinerant offices called Mediated Indemnity Centers (CIM), to assist the residents of the impacted towns. For compensation of those affected by the interruption in the supply and distribution of water, the offices in Governador Valadares (MG) and Colatina (ES) are already in operation. The impacted residents that are eligible to participate in the program will only be assisted by appointment, scheduled by date, time and location through the 0800 031 2303 Renova Foundation Call Center.
