Initiative helps economic recovery in regions affected by the collapse of the Fundão dam.
Promoting the reintegration of the population into the job market and strengthening regional development are the main objectives of the Capacita Rio Doce project, which offers free introductory, advanced and professional qualification courses in communities along the basin.
Since the beginning of the year, residents of 30 municipalities in Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo have participated in the initiative, which trained 834 people in 60 classes. With more than 2,400 hours of in-person and practical classes, the project seeks to contribute to strengthening the local economy, valuing the region’s workforce and creating opportunities for professional growth for its residents.
