In April, the new plan will be presented to the Technical Board of Tailings
On March 22, the Candonga Workshop was held in Belo Horizonte (MG). During the event, new techniques were discussed for the dredging, treatment and disposal of tailings. From this exchange of knowledge, a new plan will be developed, which will be presented to Technical Board of Tailings in April 2017.
In the meeting, participated employees of the Renova Foundation, Samarco, BHP, Vale, the Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (Ibama), the State Environmental Foundation (Feam), the Federal Prosecution Service, and representatives of environmental consulting agencies.
For the analyst of social and environmental programs of Renova, Pedro Ivo, the workshop was very productive. “Finding opportunities to reflect and build collective solutions, together with stakeholders, is essential to achieve the expected results”, he says.
